TITLE: IT TECHNICIAN II

OVERVIEW: 

KODA Resources is looking for aN IT TECHNICIAN II to join the team in our Red Wash office. The primary responsibility of the Information Technology Technician II is to perform varied tasks in support of the IT staff of the company.

JOB DUTIES \ RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides services to assets by providing field support to field locations for PC applications, hardware, Networking, Database and Server support

• Designs and implements a variety of wireless network solutions to meet the communication needs of drilling rigs and mobile field personnel

• Applies a broad understanding of systems applications, hardware, and software, recommends systems modifications to reduce customer problems

• Ensures continued uninterrupted service through identification and problem resolution

• Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and resolve them

• Is responsible for the operational support and maintenance for network systems

• Evaluates, installs, and maintains voice and data networks

• Supports server environments and network storage systems.

• Applies extensive technical and analytical skill

• Holistic and expansive expertise across discipline

• Develops, designs and implements integrated communication and network solutions to resolve business needs

• Assist management in developing IT practices, policies, and procedures

• Independently plans and conducts assignments; formulates/develops techniques and procedures; operates with substantial latitude for actions and decisions

• Applies extensive knowledge and experience to solve complex problems using relevant information sources

• Manage multiple vendors and IT projects

• Develops detailed project plans for projects and manages projects within time and budget constraints; accurately scopes out length and difficulty of tasks and projects

• Highly organized; able to organize and assimilate large quantities of complex information

• Works under minimal supervision

• May serve as a project or team leader; may provide guidance or training to lower-level staff. May review the work of others.

• Administer IT Cyber practices and manage Client antivirus software

skills:

• Significant and advanced knowledge of IT service & networking principles and concepts

• Microsoft Server Administration, Group Policy & Office 365 products support

• Microsoft Azure Cloud applications and development a plus

• Desktop Support for the Oil & Gas Industry applications

• Virtual Machine Software, VMWare/Hyper-V a plus

• Knowledge of RADWIN broadband radio systems a plus

• Power systems, UPS and generator functional knowledge

• Knowledge of field automation networks and SCADA systems

• Competent use of Voltmeter, cable testing equipment, install of low voltage wiring

• Competent in Telecommunications systems, IP telephone support

• Cyber Security Best Practices

• 25% Field support locations on oil/gas well locations noise levels may require hearing protection for short intervals.

• 75% Normal office environment. The noise level in the work environment varies between quiet and moderate.

• Travel for 1 – 2 weeks per quarter to Denver office and North Dakota field locations

• Other travel may be necessary for training and to meet company growth objectives

education and/or EXPERIENCE:

• BS degree in related field or equivalent experience

• 8+ years’ experience preferred

• Extensive experienced in the applications commonly used in Oil and Gas industry

language and interpersonal skills:

• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information to management.
