TITLE: Senior Financial REPORTING ACCOUNTANT
REPORTS TO: FINANCIAL REPORTING MANAGER

Location: Denver, CO

OVERVIEW: 

KODA Resources is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to support key accounting functions including financial reporting, technical accounting, audit coordination, and process improvement initiatives. This role requires a self-starter who can manage complex projects simultaneously.

JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Guide the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, consolidations, and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support accounting efforts for acquisitions and divestitures, including diligence and system integration.
• Prepare journal entries.
• Contribute to the external audit process, coordinating with auditors and internal teams across multiple reporting entities.
• Perform technical accounting research and ensure compliance with GAAP and industry guidance.
• Identify and implement process improvements to promote a strong internal control environment.
• Partner with Land, Reserves, Operations, and other departments to achieve shared business objectives.

WORK CONDITIONS:

• Primarily an office-based role with extended periods of computer use.
• May require extended hours during peak reporting cycles or special projects.
• Collaborative environment with cross-functional exposure

education and/or EXPERIENCE:

• 4+ years of oil and gas accounting experience required.
• Public accounting audit experience required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred but not required.
• BOLO experience preferred but not required.

• Strong understanding of GAAP and oil and gas operational accounting.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Ability to interpret contracts, financial data, and regulatory guidance.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret and apply accounting standards and analyze financial data to draw logical conclusions.

COMPENSATION RANGE/RATE:

• $105,000 – $130,000 ANNUALLY
• ACTUAL COMPENSATION OFFERED TO SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE FINALIZED WITH OFFER AND MAY BE ABOVE OR BELOW THE POSTED RANGE DUE TO SKILL LEVEL, EXPERIENCE, INDUSTRY SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS OR GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION
• OTHER COMPENSATION FOR THIS POSITION WILL INCLUDE BONUS ELIGIBILITY
